About 1,500 people attended the lively carnival, which was held in March. In light of Singapore\u2019s Bicentennial year, this event honoured past and present Home Team NSmen who have helped to safeguard the nation\u2019s security.<\/p>\n<p>Also present was guest of honour Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Manpower, Second Minister for Home Affairs and President of HomeTeamNS. She announced numerous new perks and enhanced benefits for members, including one-for-one weekend movie tickets at Cathay Cineplexes from April, and a lucky draw with a Sk\u00f4da Octavia Ambition 1.4 car up for grabs.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees were treated to a buffet spread and complimentary movie passes to watch Captain Marvel at the nearby Cathay Cineplexes theatre.<\/p>\n<p>The carnival culminated in the launch of HomeTeamNS\u2019s new initiative to honour Home Team Nsmen. This takes the form of a pledge campaign that runs till the end of the year, with the aim of collecting 100,000 pledges.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=&#8221;flexslider_slide&#8221; interval=&#8221;5&#8243; images=&#8221;8841,8840,8839&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; onclick=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]\u201c#REALPledge aims to get our NSMen to re-commit to give their best in service of the safety and security of fellow Singaporeans,\u201d said Minister Teo. She also noted the importance of ordinary citizens. \u201cYour families, too, are vital. When duty calls, they understand. You have to be away, and they give you their blessings anyway.
